About - Ink and Ribbons

Hi, I'm Unnimaya.

I have always loved gifting handmade things to people. I find a lot of joy in creating art, and I wanted to give it a purpose. The smile you see on someone's face when you gift them something so thoughtful is one of the most precious things there is, and I take immense joy and pride in creating custom gifts for you by incorporating your vision to the best of my ability. I put my heart and soul into this, and I promise each piece you see here was made with lots of love.

What is cold porcelain clay?

It's a homemade air dry clay made out of cornstarch, glue, vinegar, oil and paper napkins. It is 100% air dry, it dries rock hard, and it can be painted and glazed afterwards to give it an extra layer of protection, shine and more durability.

How each piece is made

Every piece starts as clay in my hands. I sculpt it, and then it needs 2 to 5 days to air dry - longer for bigger pieces and anything with a lot of detail. There's no rushing that part. Once it's fully dry I hand paint it with acrylics or soft pastels, then glaze it with resin or polyurethane for shine and durability.

Because it's all handmade, no two pieces are ever exactly identical. I try to measure the amount of clay to keep up with the similarities, but slight differences and imperfections are normal, and I believe that just adds more charm and uniqueness to each one.

Who I make for

Everyone who appreciates and loves art, and anyone who wonders what to gift for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, Mother's Day or any such special occasion or special someone. Trinket dishes, ring holders, bookmarks, phone hippers, little sculpted keepsakes, if you have a vision for something, I would love to hear it.

Everything is made at home here in Ontario, and shipped from Canada.

Thank you for being here, and for letting me be a small part of your gift.
